Pretty handy! The Hot Octopuss DigIt Review

Let me start this review by making something abundantly clear. I am way more into pin point than broad stimulation, as you can tell by the number of tiny vibrator reviews I have up on my blog. When it comes right down to it, I will pull out my Zumio more often than I will ever pull out my Magic Wand or my Unicorn Vibrator. My clit has been spoiled by the precise stimulation that comes from a strong bullet vibrator and will only reluctantly respond to the broad rumble of a wand. I have yet to meet a bullet I dislike. So, it should come as a surprise then that I have somewhat mixed feelings about the Hot Octopuss DiGit, the new rechargeable bullet vibrator…with a finger holster.

Hot Octopuss became famous off of their vibrators targeted for people with penises. For a while, when I was partnered, I considered asking to review one of those sleeves or cockrings to see how they would fare on my resident stunt cock. I never did get to test those, but I have gotten the chance to test Hot Octopuss’ new venture: bullet vibrators. It seems like everyone is interested in taking a bite at the powerful rechargeable bullet market, with everyone from JeJoue to Blush sending in their contenders. However, not content to simply serve up a classic with the DiGiT, Hot Octopuss decided to up the ante by adding a finger holster and marketing the DigIt as great for couples. When I saw the toy had a finger holster, I wondered if that might ruin the toy. Eager to see how this would turn out, I requested the DiGiT from SheVibe.

Say what you like, the DiGiT does look the part!

The DiGiT came in a cute, shiny package with a British flag embossed on it which I found charming. My dad, when he cleaned out my car though, rolled his eyes as he found his daughter’s vibrator. Since I’m not yet out to my parents, I was wildly embarrassed at them finding an instrument of sin in my car. Luckily, the DiGiT is apparently so small and non-threatening that my dad just rolled his eyes and didn’t give it a backwards glance the way he might’ve given a huge dildo like the Uberron or the Changeling (reviews coming soon!)

The DiGiTis small, coated in smooth silicone and charges via a little stabbing pin which would worry me except that it reminds me too much of plugging in my earbuds. It has 5 different speeds, of which the top three are the best in my opinion. The first two are rumbly yes, but so weak as to not even register for a warm up. But the final three setting are where the party is at. Maybe the silicone dampens the vibrations or maybe the people at Hot Octopuss just really know what they’re about but these vibrations are  YUMMY. They’re rumbly and penetrating, and when I take the DiGiT off my clit, I can actually feel my whole internal network pulsing for a few moments after I take it off. Delicious. Oh and there are patterns? But I don’t really care about those, I’m just going to set the DiGiT to a consistent high rumble and get straight to an orgasm.

Of course, now we have to come to the awkward part of the DiGiT review where I have to shuffle my feet, sigh, and admit that this vibrator is not perfect. I feel like a teenager justifying my choice in music when I say that the DiGiT works for me but not everyone will ‘get it’. The finger holster is non-removable sadly, and while it’s decently flexible and it fit my delicate lady sized hands, I can definitely see this being a problem for folks with larger hands. Also, for right handed people, the controls are set up beautifully! I found it extremely easy to use, though if I’m honest, I’m not sure if it was all that much better than holding it statically. For a left handed user though, the controls become more awkward, and switching settings and turning off the vibrator are much more clumsy.

This specificity with regards to handedness and hand-size is what gives me pause in recommending this vibrator to everyone. If you’re someone who is right handed, has small hands and hates holding toys? Then this is the one for you, hands down (oh haha, let me have my jokes). But if you’re not all of these, then you might be better served by toys from Blush, JeJoue or even Hot Octopuss’ other offering, the Amo (which my friend Cy reviews here!) which are uncomplicated and frill-less. This is not to say that the Hot Octopuss DiGiT is a bad toy, but it’s just not going to be everyone’s favorite flavor. Ah well, back to masturbating right handed.

Kip Rechargeable Vibrator Review

Rechargeable bullet vibrators are all the rage nowadays. Every big name maker is looking to challenge the Tango, which is good news for everyone because there absolutely need to be better ones out there. Je Joue made their line, Blush Novelties has their own, but today we’re talking about what Dame has done. They’ve thrown their hat into the ring with their Kip, and I’m here to tell you exactly how it measures up.

The Kip is different from other bullet vibrators in terms of shape and color. Rather than simply an angled tip, it features a beak like pointed tip and a slightly concave surface on the top. It also, to my surprise and delight, comes in a bright sunny yellow which was what motivated me to ask SheVibe to send it my way for review. Any sex toy that comes in a fun not-pink color is something I need to try. The Kip is also covered in a smooth and silky silicone, similar to the Je Joue bullet. The silicone is really quite nice, and I find myself just enjoying the feel of it in my hand when I’m using it.

KIP_PRODUCT PHOTO
The Kip posed adorably on a painted background.

The battery life of the Kip is also pretty impressive. I’ve used it on and off for a month now and I haven’t needed to charge it and I didn’t notice any appreciable loss in power. If I did want to charge it, I’d hook it up to the slick magnetic contacts and then just leave it be for an hour or so before wandering back to hold it against my clit again. The buttons are also wonderful, and I’d like to personally thank the person who designed the Kip to be so easy to use and adjust without even looking. It’s much more modern than the one button interface that a lot of bullets used in the past and it makes me smile at how much thought Dame put into the Kip. Maybe they contacted all the picky reviewers and finally heard our prayer for better controls.

When in use, the Kip has five intensities which I like, and five patterns that I care nothing for. I appreciate that Dame gave me more than three settings to choose from, it seems like they’ve gotten the message that consumers are starting to expect more from sex toys. The first two speeds of the vibrator are gentle, so gentle that I felt like they were more for teasing than for actually making me orgasm. As such, I typically skip right to the third speed and crank it up to the highest when I’m about to orgasm. This, when paired with a decent dildo makes for a comfy masturbation experience. The Kip’s style of vibration is gently rumbly, and there’s not even a whisper of buzz on even the highest setting. The strength is sufficient and it gets me off easily. The Kip is like coming home to your partner who’s already ordered you your favorite delivery, poured you a glass of wine and put on your favorite Netflix binge. The Kip is perfectly simple, sweet and well executed.

Where I might fault the Kip is on it’s price. It’s $85, which isn’t bad compared to a lot of other rechargeable vibrators. But unfortunately, the Kip is more expensive than both the Tango and the Je Joue Classic bullet, both of which I would rank as slightly more powerful and less expensive. I can forgive the price when I think about how well designed this toy is, but if power and price are all that matter to you, then I’d recommend the Je Joue Classic Bullet.

The Kip is a polished and well thought out toy. It’s controls make sense, it’s pleasurable without being overwhelming and it has an adorable aesthetic. If these are the things that matter to you, then go ahead and get the Kip from SheVibe. If you’re looking for something easier on the wallet, I suggest you check out these more budget friendly vibrators.

JeJoue Classic Bullet Review

As readers of my previous posts may know, I’ve been a faithful lover to my Exposed Nocturnal Bullet. Yes, I admitted the toy had some faults, even in the loving post where I reviewed it, I mentioned that I thought the toy had given me a cut on my urethra. But even the threat of a recurrence of this unfortunate event wasn’t enough to put me off. It’s cheap, rechargeable and strong. And I’d still recommend it if your budget firmly excludes vibrators over fifty dollars! But…this month my clit was wooed. Seduced away from the knife sharp vibrations by more rumbly, sweet vibrations that gently massaged my clitoris and all her internal structures. Yes, I admit, I’ve found someone else. The JeJoue Classic Bullet is rumbly and gentle to me and I’ve fallen head over heels.

The JeJoue Classic Bullet is a silicone covered bullet without any bells and whistles to differentiate it from the other bullets. Well, perhaps excepting the cheerful teal color and squishy silicone tip. There are three buttons on the side, and there are 5 speeds which range from a fluttery tap to a more robust buzz. Some reviewers despise the button placement, but I don’t really find it that inconvenient. Still, it does make the bullet a little less ergonomic. The Classic is also waterproof, which I tested in my sink as I washed a few choice dildos. It holds an average amount of charge, and so I was disappointed the two times it died on me and I had to find another toy to finish me off. Admittedly I go for weeks without charging it, so this is kind of my fault. And, as mentioned above, the Classic also has a squishy tip, which some other reviewers have noted! This makes the bullet vibe a little more comfortable if you like to put pressure against your clit.

Now, as for how the Classic fairs against my clitoris…well, it’s like taking my clit to the spa. This is a gentle massage, a purring rumble that makes my internal structures SWOON. In terms of music, the Exposed Nocturnal is a shrieking electric guitar, all sharp and strong, where the Classic is a thrumming, throbbing bass. The quality of vibrations are so different that it actually took a little while for my brain to interpret the vibrations of pleasurable. But I also noticed that my clit needed less of a break between orgasms and felt less raw after the sessions. There’s a fuzzy-wuzzy comfortable feeling to these vibrations and it penetrates deeply, so my clitoris doesn’t get numbed out like it does sometimes with buzzier vibes. My whole clitoral network gets involved, so I can place this just to one side of my vulva and be awash in LOVELY sensation. On the lower levels, the sensation is almost like tapping on my clit rather than strictly vibrations. It’s like a tapping pattern but with no break in stimulation. What I’m saying is that this vibe is like a good vanilla ice cream: not innovative, but a simple thing done excellently. And at a fair price considering the Classic is only $59!

I’m not saying that I don’t still love my Exposed Nocturnal, it was my first love after all. But I am saying that I’m not monogamous with my vibrators. The Classic has been a trooper, reliably tapping and thrumming against my clit until I shudder and cum. Honestly, it’s a toy that exemplifies the perks of being a sex toy reviewer.

Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator Review

The Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator (from here on The Nocturnal) is not joking with you. It is not joshing or funning with you, and it is nowhere near the vicinity of goofing on you. Despite the soft shades of pink and purple, the Nocturnal contains a powerhouse ready and willing to forcibly buzz an orgasm out of you. The strength of this vibrator is commendable, and I would like to applaud Blush Novelties for making an affordable and strong vibrator. However, while I love the strength of the Nocturnal, my thoughts on it as a whole remain complicated.

I decided on purchasing the Nocturnal for two reasons. One was because I’d heard that it was as strong as the Tango. That of course caught my attention, because that kind of thing isn’t thrown around lightly. If you’re not aware, the Tango is one of the most revered vibrators possibly ever. It’s gotten consistently high praise from just about every sex toy reviewer who was lucky enough to be able to review it. The second reason was that the price of the Blush Novelties Jammy and The Nocturnal combined was approximately equivalent to the single density version of the Vixen Creations Randy. Yes, the Nocturnal retails for approximately $32, which is less than half of what the Tango costs. So for people on a budget, this is going to turn heads.

NOCTURNAL PRODUCT PHOTO
The Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator in Dusty Rose

The Nocturnal is sort of big for what I imagine a bullet vibrator to be. It’s about 4 inches long, making it much bigger than the Screaming O Vooom which I have, and about as long as the Tango. Made of ABS plastic, the best material for conducting vibrations, the toy is smooth and nonporous, meaning it’s easy to sterilize with a little bleach if you want to share it between partners. Because the toy has mechanical parts, boiling is off the table, as well as tossing it in the dishwasher on a sanitize cycle. The Nocturnal is also rechargeable, with magnetic contacts rather than a jack. This I take some issue with as the magnetic contacts are weak and can cause some difficulty when trying to stick the charger to it. Still, it’s better than a jack, which can worry me irrationally when I see the toy being dunked in water.

The Nocturnal has five vibration speeds and five patterns. Given the strength of the motor in this toy, the patterns can be kind of pleasurable actually. The vibrations of the escalation pattern feel like my clit is being tapped, which, depending on how aroused I am, can be jarring or exquisitely pleasurable. Mostly though, I focused on the steady vibration settings. On the website, the product copy claims that the Nocturnal is waterproof, which I tested by dropping it in a sink full of water and other dildos I was warming up. The cold weather necessitates some pre-heating before masturbation you know. I watched the Nocturnal buzz away in there for several minutes, unaffected by the water surrounding it and spinning wildly on top of the dildos. I also pulled it out partially to look at the impressive water displacement, which was quite entertaining. While this test is entirely unscientific, I’m confident in validating the waterproof claim.

But enough beating around the bush. How does it feel? Well, as I mentioned earlier, this is definitely a strong toy. I’ve used the Nocturnal multiple times, nearly every masturbation session since I got it trying to synthesize my feelings in a concise way. But unfortunately, simplicity escapes me. The first time I tried the Nocturnal, it was borderline painful to put on my genitals. Now admittedly, I’d had several orgasms with a wand vibrator earlier so I was already over stimulated, and so laying something so aggressive on my clit was bound to feel weird and unpleasurable. So really, that one was on me. But it’s also worth noting that the Nocturnal is too powerful for me to use it as a warm up toy. Even the first intensity is too much for my clit when it’s just waking up. I need to use my hands for a few minutes before I’m sufficiently warmed up enough to want the Nocturnal.

Once I hit that sweet spot though, the Nocturnal is undeniably and ruthlessly pleasurable. This toy dominates my clit, makes me unable to control my expressions and forces moans out of me. The vibrations are on the buzzier size, but with an element of rumble that makes them still approachable despite that aggressive motor. The first setting alone can make me squirm and pant from the strength of the vibrations. Paired with a dildo, this toy makes me come hard all over whatever I’ve chosen to stuff my vagina with. Orgasms with the Nocturnal on my clit actually made me figure out where my G spot was. The strong clitoral orgasms caused my G spot to swell up, making penetration of almost any kind almost violently orgasmic. And so I became a devoted worshipper of the toy, using it faithfully during every dildo session that I had. I fell into a kind of love with this vibrator. It’s small, simple and effective. The buttons made sense. It never failed to get me off.

Well, sort of. I feel a little awkward mentioning this, but I did have one acutely unfortunate session with the toy that I feel I need to mention. One night as I was using the toy before bed, I felt a sharp pain in my vulva. I thought briefly that maybe I was just numbed out from the Nocturnal, but when I went to pee after masturbating, I felt a sharp pain and saw some blood on the toilet paper. After that, the sharp, stinging sensation persisted in my urethra all night, and there was blood every time I went to the bathroom. I thought I might’ve had an infection and made an appointment with an Urgent Care clinic to get a urine culture done, but by the morning, the pain had receded dramatically and there was no more blood. Given these circumstances, I concluded that some how I had cut my urethra. While I can’t say beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Nocturnal caused this, it seems to me the most logical conclusion given the timing of the event. So I’ve taken a brief respite from the Nocturnal for my vag to heal.

So overall, my relationship with this toy is still complicated. I’ve had glorious masturbation sessions with it, and found it made testing dildos enormously easier with the Nocturnal buzzing away on my clit and swelling my G spot. And I’ve had a sleepless, stinging, and slightly bloody night also because of the Nocturnal. How to synthesize these experiences? Is it still okay to recommend a toy that caused this kind of discomfort? Is it scaremongering to mention this probable fluke? I’m still not sure. However, what I am sure of is that having a nuanced opinion on a toy is not a bad thing. I can both love and recommend this toy while at the same time cautioning my readers to be mindful if they have more delicate genitals. So if you’re in the mood for a strong, affordable vibrator and take note of the fact that it really is strong, I recommend the Nocturnal.

I purchased this toy all on my own, I just wanted y’all to know my opinion.
